Hike - Follow the Roman Road from Pont‑y‑Pant to Betws‑y‑coed

This 4 mile walk starts with a short (8 minute) train ride from Betws-y-Coed to Pont-y-Pant. Pont-y-Pant Station The route follows the old Roman Road (Sarn Helen) gently up through the forestry and through the ancient abandoned village of Rhiwddolion. Abandoned Village Sarn Helen then descends to Pentre Du, the route back to Betws-y-Coed crossing the river by the Miners Bridge and returning by the riverside path. Walk - Aberdyfi - Tywyn one-way: return by train

Zooming along the beach at Tywyn                                  Route : Start at Aberdovey Station ; walk along the shore to Tywyn.  Catch the train back from Tywyn Station to Aberdovey. 4.75 miles walk, almost entirely on sandy beach or along the edge of the dunes. This is one of the Cambrian Railways Seaside Strolls Suggested route Obstacles : No significant obstacles. Approaching Tywyn, it is advisable to leave the beach before the groynes, and ascend the slope onto the coastal path. Parking : Roadside parking on lane to Aberdyfi Station , off A493, and in Tywyn there are car parks at the Railway Station, and by Marine Parade. Facilities : Public toilets in Aberdyfi ( beside village hall ) on Marine Parade, Tywyn, and at Leisure Centre,Tywyn.  Tywyn also has several cafes , on Marine Parade (seasonal) and on High Street (all year round). ...

Stroll - Abererch to Pwllheli one-way along beach: return by train

                                  Route : Walk along beach between Abererch and Pwllheli. Most of the route is along the clean sandy beach, and is passable at most states of the tide (except on extreme high water spring tides.) Train services are every couple of hours (less frequently on Sundays), so it's easy to do a 3-minute return journey by train. Obstacles : No significant obstacles.  The harbourside walk between the beach and the station is well partitioned from the roadway by a low wall. Parking : Park at Aberech Railway Station car park (free), or besides Pwllhelli Sailing Club Facilities : Public toilets (open all year round) in Pwllhelli at Penllan  and at Y Maes .
