Short (steep) walk in Cwm Pennant

Short and initially steep walk (of only 2 miles) up through woodland to reach the restored Cwm Cypwrth copper mine. Inspecting the old copper-mining equipment The riverside pool is a great place for paddling and picnicing (so maybe arrive early with a picnic ?!!!) Riverside parking place, excellent for a picnic and a paddle Parking place (and starting point for walk) is here: https://goo.gl/maps/i9hsg8FSQGJ2 The first 200 yards are across a sheep pasture - (so dogs on leads!). There are two substantial post-and rail stiles, (which may need a bit of dog-lifting assistance for the less agile!), but no other sgnificant obstacles. Shore at Aber Ogwen                                Route : Follows the shore line East of Penrhyn Castle, using the North Wales Coastal Path. Returns further inland along quiet lanes. Suggested Route Total distance 6 miles, almost entirely flat Obstacles : Two road crossings Parking : Car park beside the shore near Spinnies nature reserve, Aber Ogwen Facilities : More information about  Spinnies Nature Reserve  from North Wales Wildlife Trust. Dogs must be on lead in the actual Nature Reserve.

Stroll - Treborth Coastal/Forest Path, Menai Strait

                            Route : Starting at the entrance to Treborth Botanic Gardens, the route runs along the forest/coastal path beside the Menai Strait. It's imporant not to disturb the Red Squirrels, so the first section is best done with dogs on leads through the woodlands. There are some great views across the strait. The route passes under the Britannia Bridge ramparts and continues on to the edge of Vaynol Estate, and then returns. It is also possible to take an optional return route through the Treboth Botanical Gardens Nearest public transport is the set of bus stops outside the Antelope Inn, on the Menai Bridge approach. Obstacles : The (optional) short concrete roadway which leads down to the whatr below the Britannia Bridge can be slippery with green algal slime when wet.
