Stroll - Caernarfon coastal circular

Aber Foreshore, across the harbour from Caernarfon Castle

Route: This easy walk of 4.5 miles follows the coastline out of Caernarfon. At low tide you can follow the shoreline or when the tide is higher, walk along the grassy roadside of this quiet lane.
Route
The route eventually turns inland on various public footpaths and bridleways across the fields. It finally joins the Lon Eifion Trail / Cyclepath which follows alongside the Welsh Highland Railway back into Caernarfon.

It's easy to get into Caernarfon town from the Aber Foreshore - just walk across the harbour footbridge.

Obstacles:  There may be a few livestock around in the fields of the middle section of this route.

Parking: Plenty of free parking on Aber Foreshore, Caernarfon LL54 5RR and in the adjacent Perc Coed Helen.

From A487, follow Coed Helen Lane past the holiday park and onward past the harbour, onto Aber Foreshore Road.

Alternatively, you can park on various other car parks in Caernarfon town, then walk across the footbridge to Aber Foreshore from the Anglesey Arms end of the Castle/Harbour Car Park.

Along the harbourside
It's easy to get into the town from the Aber Foreshore - just walk across the harbour footbridge.
